First post lockdown date

Posted on April 27, 2021 by debs92

Hello lovely followers 🙂 So the lockdowns really did a number on my dating life, as many of you can relate. I don’t think I have had a date in what feels like forever… Until now!!

The classic online meeting.. I know how cliche, but hey, how else am I supposed to meet someone. We met on one of the many dating apps (my secret as to which) and talked for a week or so before deciding to get together in person.

A beautiful day in the beautiful city of Bath was where we decided on. Bath has become a Green zone so driving into the city is a big no-no, so he came in from Bristol on the train and I planned to get the train in from my neck of the woods.. Note to self, CHECK THE PUBLIC TRANSPORT BEFORE YOUR LEAVING TIME… An hour before we were due to meet up I checked the train schedule to find out that there were no trains and only bus replacement buses… OMG!!! The only one I could get would get me there so late he probably would have gone home. I decided to drive in instead but had to take my mum to an afternoon gig in Bradford on Avon first. This got me into Bath an hour and a half late for the date. I was mortified. Nothing quite like being that late for one’s first date 😳😣.

Thankfully he was forgiving and so understanding. We went for a late lunch at a Thai restaurant and walked around the city and found our way to Queen’s square and sat in the sunshine and talked for ages.

All in all a truly lovely 1st date and the 2nd one is already on the calendar (more on that in another post.

I am always looking for COVID safe date ideas so please give me some inspiration ideas because I am keeping my fingers for this one because he is really lovely (and somewhat good looking😉).

I hope you have enjoyed my musings about my first post lockdown date and fingers crossed on the 2nd one 🙂

Until next time…

So cool! I’m glad you enjoyed the first date so much! I love thai food (haven’t had any since covid) so I’m especially envious about that!

My story

My name is Debs and thank you for checking out my little corner of the bloggersphere. I’ll start off with telling you a little bit about myself.

I grew up in Zimbabwe (Southern part of Africa) and went to dance school before realising the performing world wasn’t so much for me. Too cut throat if you ask me. I moved overseas after uni and tried a few different jobs while trying to find myself, before settling on owning my own business and working as a Virtual Assistant.

I discovered the glorious world of blogging for myself in November 2020, and what started as a blog to go along side my business became a lifestyle blog and my escape away for the tough side of life.

I hope you enjoy what you read here :)
