It’s strange how that statement seems so foreign nowadays. It seems our lives are forever changed because of the wretched Covid.
I have been cooped up in the house for what feels like an eternity (I know you can relate). So when I heard Boris say we could meet 1 person from another household, I did a flip of happiness.
Just before the first lockdown last year, I got a new colleague in the office I was working in at the time, and I knew we would get on. We chatted all through the lockdowns and have become friends. She is a beautiful person, both inside and out and I’m grateful to have met her before all this madness started and gotten to know her through it.
When I moved to the area, I knew she wasn’t far and was very excited about having a friend nearby, (my 2 best friends are in London and Southampton, not helpful to say the least). We made a plan to go for a walk in a nearby park with her baby (it was baby’s 2month birthday on the day). I was thrilled.
Oh to be out in the sunshine and with a friend who I hadn’t seen in almost a year, it was glorious. I can honestly say that that hour and a half with Chloe and Poppy has been the highlight of my week!!! We pottered around the park, had a coffee and chatted about guys, baby stuff and hilarious moments.

By the way, if you want to follow her blog it’s here and trust me you won’t regret it. I look forward to her posts every month ☺️
There’s nothing quite like some quality time with a friend to make you believe in life again. I cannot wait for our next wonder around and when things have settled down a cuddle with the adorable Poppy.
Have you had a chance to meet up with anyone outside your household yet? Or what has been your highlight this week?? I’d love to hear all about it ☺️☺️
Until next time…

My highlight of the week is going to the grocery store on my own lol or getting my morning Starbucks at work (no matter how tired I am)! Have seen some friends here and there, nothing consistent but you’re right, that little burst of connection is so wonderful for the spirit!
That sounds great.. A chance to get out the house and have some rejuvenation (be that time alone or with a friend) is the best ☺️
Aw this is great you had girl time with a friend! I’m lucky enough to be in a state that didn’t have very strong restrictions so I’ve been able to meet up for occasional lunches with friends. But my problem is that with everyone working remotely now, it’s harder to schedule time for a decent lunch break. Meetings and work just take over the whole day and it’s hard to escape anyway. 🙁
It was truly fantastic to see her.. I’m glad you have been able to meet up with friends here and there but I do understand the whole working from home thing. It can be tricky to plan a good lunch that works for all..
