A great man

Posted on April 19, 2021 by debs92

This has come a little late as I have been rather busy with my job, but I wanted to write a short post on HRH Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh. A great man who died just short of his 100th birthday but has given so much to the UK and it’s people.

A well respected Navy man and Consort to our dear Queen, he showed the world what it was to be a royal and the grace in which to live along side one of the leaders of the free world.

Married to HRH Queen Elizabeth 2 II for more than 70 years, not sure there are many people who can claim that. My grand parents were married for 63 years and that in itself was seriously impressive.

From what I have read and heard, having spoken to a couple of people who had the privilege of meeting Prince Phillip, he was a pretty funny guy. This is probably one of my favourite pictures I found of the Queen and her husband. I love how the Queen has that almost little girl giggle smile on her face as she passes her husband pranking her being dressed as one of her guards. Makes me smile every time I see it.

The grace at which the both have carried themselves through all the rough times they have seen in their time is inspiring.

I know this seems a bit gushy but hey, I’m a gushy romantic!

Rest In Peace Prince Phillip, you have served us well!!

    Awesome post !
I have been thinking a lot about Prince Philip since his passing 🙁 Even though it is expected considering his old age, it is still tragic nonetheless and all the more so considering that this is a signal that he, like the Queen, like everyone, is not invincible and after awhile we all leave this earth 🙁

My story

My name is Debs and thank you for checking out my little corner of the bloggersphere. I’ll start off with telling you a little bit about myself.

I grew up in Zimbabwe (Southern part of Africa) and went to dance school before realising the performing world wasn’t so much for me. Too cut throat if you ask me. I moved overseas after uni and tried a few different jobs while trying to find myself, before settling on owning my own business and working as a Virtual Assistant.

I discovered the glorious world of blogging for myself in November 2020, and what started as a blog to go along side my business became a lifestyle blog and my escape away for the tough side of life.

I hope you enjoy what you read here :)
